The Assembly observes a minute of silence for the former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who passed away on Monday.
At the request of Speaker Lindita Nikolla, the Albanian legislators stood up as a sign of respect and held a minute of silence for Berlusconi.
Nikolla said that Berlusconi was an old and prominent friend of Albania and went on to say that he has made an extraordinary contribution to the relations between the two countries.
"He was an outstanding friend of Albania. It has made an extraordinary contribution to the relations between the two countries," he said.
While the deputy of the SP, Taulant Balla, described Berlusconi as an important personality who has supported Albania on the path of European integration.
"I ask for 1 minute of silence in respect of a personality who, when he entered Italian politics, had an affection for Albania and was an unwavering supporter of our country," said Balla.
