Democratic Party member Indrit Hoxha has commented on the Constitutional Court's decision on the Erion Veliaj case, describing it as the first sign of a split within the Socialist Party.
According to Hoxha, this decision could trigger strong political developments in the leftist camp, as Veliaj is expected to take new actions against Prime Minister Edi Rama.
He predicts that the clashes within the SP may be stronger than those that occurred in the Democratic Party, emphasizing that the SP is playing with large economic interests.
"The Socialist Party has begun the journey of a split, and this decision of the Constitutional Court, for me, I have no information, but I have political intuition that leads me to believe that Veliaj will take other political steps against the country's prime minister."
Why do I think this? What will happen in the SP, and it won't be a distant day, we haven't seen anything like what happened in the DP.
"If in the DP we had a debate about a seal about who gets it, imagine what could happen in a political force like the SP where economic interests are extraordinary and thefts are unusual. We have a war within the SP, for me there is no longer any doubt. He can go to court to change the security measure to return to the office of mayor," he said.
