Around 3,000 ballots from the Diaspora have arrived at Rinas airport. The votes are expected to arrive at the CEC where further verifications will be made and their validity will be determined.
We recall that yesterday, around 600 envelopes arrived from the Diaspora, while Albanians vote from 85 countries around the world.
It is worth noting that in total there are over 294 thousand Albanians living abroad who can participate in the vote on May 11, while more than 48 thousand requests were rejected due to various shortcomings.
The requests came from more than 100 different countries around the world, but most immigrants were registered from Italy and Greece, where the largest communities live. In third place are Germany, followed by the United States.
According to legal provisions, the vote of emigrants will be counted in the district where they have their residence in Albania. More than 52 thousand registered voters belong to Tirana, followed by Fier with over 32 thousand voters from abroad and Elbasan and Durrës with a little more than 25 thousand voters from abroad.
The vote from abroad is seen as crucial in these elections, as it can make the difference. Many new parties have emerged on the scene and they claim to have support from abroad. So May 11 could be the month of big changes. We are talking about nearly 300 thousand votes.
