Candidate Sali Berisha for the September 24 elections in Kukës has started the electoral campaign.
A few days before the partial local elections in Kukës, the candidate of the 'Together We Win' coalition, Emri Vata, met the residents of several villages and promised them the provision of drinking water in 2023.
In the electoral meeting with the residents of Tërthora, Vata said that the provision of drinking water for the villages of this unit will be resolved within the mandate.
Candidate Vata promised the improvement of the infrastructure in the villages of Tërthora and the construction of overpasses along the National Road.
Albert Halilaj of the Socialist Party and Emri Vata of "Bashke Fitomje" are competing for the Municipality of Kukës. Even though it was registered as an electoral subject, the Democratic Party led by Lulzim Basha did not present any candidate.
The official DP has stated that the reason for not participating in the elections is insufficient time and the heated conflict between the democrats.
Kukësi will go to the elections on September 24, after the video-scandal of the former mayor Safet Gjici. He has been in custody for 3 months and is accused by SPAK of "passive corruption".
