The spokesperson of the Kosovo Police, Baki Kelani, has denied the accusations of Serbian politicians that the Kosovo police raped two young people, a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. According to his statement, Kelani called these claims untrue.
He says that while patrolling the Izvor-Banjska road, the police stopped two motorbikes carrying five people. According to him, after the police performed a routine check according to their procedures, three of the people were released. Kelani emphasized that the actions of the police were carried out in accordance with the procedures of the law and in no case was there any unprofessional behavior.
"Today, on 17.06.2023, in the afternoon, the patrol units which were on official duty on the Izvor-Banjska road, came across two vehicles (motorcycles) with five people driving around. One motorcycle with two people continued avoiding the police signal to stop and ran away on a mountain road, while the other continued to avoid in the other direction on an unsuitable terrain, but the police officers were followed on foot, since the terrain was not suitable for running away, and somewhere around 150 meters from the main road, they encountered the motorcycle in question and the two people.
