The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, had dinner with the former high representative of the European Union, Catherine Ashton.
Kurti said that they discussed politics and European and regional issues. He also stated that despite the fact that both have different roles, he said that they face many of the same issues.
"I hosted dinner last night on the outskirts of Pristina for the former High Representative of the European Union, Baroness Ashton, with whom I discussed politics and European and regional issues. Although our roles are different today compared to 10 years ago, we face many of the same issues ," Kurti wrote on Twitter.
Catherine Ashton was a leader in mediating the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in Pristina, where in 2013 the first agreement between Kosovo and Serbia was reached for the normalization of relations.
Ashton, who stayed in Kosovo on Friday, said that she expects progress in the dialogue and expressed the need for determination to make a compromise. During the conference, Ashton refused to comment on the last failed dialogue meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. She praised the current EU emissary, Miroslav Lajcak.
While after the last meeting, Kurti mentioned Ashton's name in front of the journalists, as he remembered that she was a mediator at the time when the 2013 agreement was reached for the Association.
