After the kidnapping of 3 members of the Kosovo Police, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla appeared in a press conference.
Asked if he had any communication with internationals, Kurti said that he had talked with DASH's special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, as well as with the American ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier.
" Last night I had a telephone conversation with both of them, also with the special emissary Escobar and Hovenier with whom we talked about security and I told them that KFOR should bring me information before the meeting of the Security Council, but no information! We went to the meeting with information from the Republic of Kosovo that is clearly true. It is not about arresting the policemen, it is a violation of territorial integrity, an act of aggression and of course we are in contact with them, I will meet them today during the day and we are in contact with Jetish Jashar to visit the prisons where our policemen are being held. For other operational details, the minister knows more than I do, it is a matter of kidnapping policemen across that cut-off road and sending them to Serbia", declared the head of the government of Kosovo.
As for the evidence proving the abduction of the policemen by the Serbian troops, Kurti emphasizes that he has also shared them with KFOR.
" KFOR also has all this, we share the information with our partners, but their silence does not contribute to the investigation or justice. It makes no sense to not have an official statement about an event. It is the Commander-in-Chief who mentions the resolution for every statement, this question should be asked to him, while we as institutions of Kosovo consider the law in force as our right and responsibility", he said .
