The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, rejected Edi Rama's proposal that KFOR take control of the north of Kosovo.
In an interview with the Bosnian media "Hayat TV", Kurti clarified that there is no need for such proposals as this part is determined by the international community.
He added that to guarantee the security of the territory of Kosovo, first is the Kosovo Police, then come EULEX and KFOR.
"We need joint patrols by our police and KFOR on the border between Kosovo and Serbia. As for other things, this is already determined. Everywhere in Kosovo - the first to respond is our police, then EULEX and then KFOR. And I don't think that this formula should change" , said Kurti.
We recall that the Prime Minister of Albania proposed today that KFOR should take control of the north of Kosovo as soon as possible, so that the situation does not worsen and there are no more victims as a result of the attacks. According to him, this should have happened earlier, but still better a little late than too late.
"... In order to prevent this conflict by any means, KFOR must take control of North Kosovo. I have not heard that Serbia opposes it. Here it doesn't matter who asks for it, the situation demands it. If it had been done earlier this would not have happened. A little late in my opinion, but better a little late than too late ," said Rama.
Rama's proposal also brought many reactions against it. Many of which linked this proposal to the same one of the Serbian president Aleksandër Vučič, who a short time ago requested the removal of the Kosovo Police from the North and the management of the northern municipalities by KFOR.
" I repeated the request that security in the north of Kosovo be taken over by the members of KFOR, which has the capacity to prevent the violent actions of Pristina ", Vučič is quoted as saying.
These statements once again mark the lowest point of Pristina-Tirana relations, after those clashes that brought the sanctioning of Kosovo by the EU.
The two prime ministers , Rama and Kurti, despite the statements in the media that they have good relations, showed once again that they have no point of communication with each other, despite the urgent need to have a common policy against Serbia's aggression./Pamphlet
