After Tirana, the American Anti-Drug official lands in Kosovo, meeting with
American Anti-Drug Officer and head of SPAK, Altin Dumani

The US Assistant Secretary for the International Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Todd Robinson, will pay a two-day visit to Kosovo, on March 20-22.

As the US Department of State announces, Robinson will meet with the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, but not with Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

On the other hand, the American official who visited Tirana in the last two days also met with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"From March 20-22, Assistant Secretary Robinson will travel to Pristina, Kosovo, where he will meet with the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani and with INL's partners in the law enforcement and justice sector," the announcement states.

Not even the senior official of USAID, Erin McKee, met with Kurti, who only met with the president of the country, Vjosa Osmani.

The lack of meetings with senior American officials with Kurti comes after the strained relations between the Kurti Government and the Biden Administration.

This was also announced by the special emissary of the USA for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, who said that in almost three years of the Kurti Government, there was no high-level meeting "between anyone in the Government of Kosovo and someone in the American administration".

"So this should also be an indicator to people of where the relationship is," Escobar stated.
