The reason for Kurt's non-appearance at the Special Prosecutor's Office is that the Prime Minister is abroad on an official trip.
This is what the spokeswoman of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Liridôna Kozmaqi-Hajdaraj, said to journalists.
"The Special Prosecutor's Office, through a regular summons, has invited Prime Minister Kurti as a witness in a criminal case that this Prosecutor is investigating. The Cabinet of Prime Minister Kurti, the Special Prosecutor's Office has been informed that the Prime Minister is on a trip abroad and it is impossible to appear today at the Special Prosecutor's Office", said Kozmaqi-Hajdaraj.
She added that the Special Prosecutor's Office will prepare another invitation for Prime Minister Kurti.
"According to the law, the Special Prosecutor's Office will prepare another invitation for Prime Minister Kurti for another date. This is all the information we can share for now", said Kozmaqi-Hajdaraj.
On December 10, 2024, the Special Prosecutor's Office sent an official invitation to Prime Minister Albin Kurti to appear today at 09:30 at the Prosecutor's Office and give his testimony in a criminal case.
The official document states that the unexcused absence of this summons may bring legal consequences, including fines of up to 250 euros or the measure of forced escort by the relevant authorities.
