The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reacted to the vote on the recommendation for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, yesterday. Kurti said that the first step was the meeting of ambassadors in the Council of Europe on April 24, 2023, the second step was yesterday, while the third step will be on April 18.
Prime Minister Kurti added that the last step is in May at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the member countries.
"The first step of public success was the meeting of ambassadors at the Council of Europe on April 24, 2023, the second step was yesterday at the meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs, the third step will be the Parliamentary Assembly on April 18, 2024 and the last one of membership one month after, in May, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the member countries."
Kurti said that this is a great achievement for the people and the state of Kosovo and a new opportunity for citizens without distinction.
"A great achievement for the people and our country, a new opportunity for the citizens of Kosovo without distinction. The fundamental values of the Council of Europe, i.e. democracy, the rule of law and human rights, come naturally to our good and progressive governance."
