Brajan Gruda continues to remain on the radar of the Albanian National Team, after the 21-year-old was not included by Germany in the plans for the 2026 World Cup. In a statement to the media, Albania U-21 coach Alban Bushi confirmed that the Albanian Football Federation has been in contact with the Brighton footballer for years.
" As far as I know, we have been in contact for a while. The Technical Directorate has had continuous contact for 3-4 years. I have said it on other occasions that, if it is not part of Germany, the first option will be Albania ," Bushi declared at the press conference.
The red and black coach highly praised Gruda's qualities, emphasizing that his profile fits more with the schemes applied by the coach of the National Team A, Silvinjo.
" He is a player with a lot of potential, in terms of the qualities he has. He has qualities that not many in our national team have, especially with the scheme that Silvinjo plays, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, he is very suitable ," said Bushi.
However, the U-21 coach admitted that Gruda would not be easily integrated into his team's current scheme.
" But with a scheme like the U-21 National Team plays, we would have a hard time figuring out where he could fit in because we play without a winger ," he added.
Bush's statements confirm that Albania has not given up on the opportunity to bring in talent of Albanian origin, as long as he continues to have the right to represent the Rossoneri.
The Brighton striker was recently seen in Shkodër, where he was spending his holidays, while it remains to be seen whether the lack of an invitation from Germany in the future will push him towards a final decision in favor of Albania.
