Slavia of Prague

Slavia Prague has been severely punished by disciplinary bodies after violent incidents erupted in the derby against Sparta Prague on May 9. The federation has decided that the match will be recorded as a 0-3 loss for Slavia, while the club has been fined around 400 thousand euros.

The events occurred just two minutes before Slavia was to begin their championship celebrations, but the chaos and violence in the stadium had serious consequences for the Czech club.

Despite the penalty, Slavia continues to lead the championship by five points over Sparta Prague, with three weeks left until the end of the season.

However, the team's fans will not have the opportunity to celebrate with the players if they are declared champions, due to disciplinary measures imposed following the incidents.

Slavia Prague announcement:

" Slavia Prague accepts the decision of the Disciplinary Board, according to which it will play the next four home matches without spectators in connection with the incident at the end of the 317th derby against Sparta. The decision also includes a financial fine of 10 million crowns and the loss of the match with a score of 0:3 in favor of the opponent.

We accept the decision of the Disciplinary Committee with respect and are fully aware of the seriousness of the entire situation and the responsibility associated with the organization of the match. The safety of players, members of the implementing teams, employees, partners and fans is an absolute priority for the Slavia Prague club and any disruption of the playing field or inappropriate behavior in the stadium is unacceptable.

At the same time, we deeply regret the impact of this decision on tens of thousands of normal, decent cheering fans who have nothing to do with the whole situation. We understand that the stadium closure will impact fans who purchased tickets, planned to watch the game with family or friends, and were looking forward to the shared experience at Fortuna Arena. We are even more sorry for the whole situation.

Fans who purchased tickets for the matches, as well as season ticket holders, will receive detailed information regarding refunds and further procedures from the club in the near future. Detailed organizational instructions, the schedule and all important information will be gradually published via the official website and social networks of Slavia Prague.

We thank all fans for their support, understanding and respect for the current situation.

We appreciate that you stand by Slavia even in difficult times ."
