
The spectacle was not lacking at the Pristina stadium, but Drita left without a positive result, after being defeated 2-3 by the Slovenian team Celje in a match with pace and emotions until the last seconds.
Celje more efficient in the first half
In the first half, Celje had greater control of the ball, although the scoring chances were balanced. The breakthrough came in the 19th minute, when Kucys used an assist from Calusic to put the home team ahead.
Shortly before the end of the first half, Celje doubled their lead. Milot Avdyli, a footballer of Albanian origin, scored for 0-2, sending the teams to the break with the guests' clear advantage.
In the second half, the Kosovo champions appeared with a more attacking approach and managed to get back into the game. In the 59th minute, Blerim Krasniqi, activated as a substitute, scored with a header to narrow the gap.
The home team's pressure continued and in the 75th minute, another substitution proved decisive. Liridon Balaj equalized the score at 2-2, restoring hopes of a complete turnaround and enthusing the fans in the stadium.
However, in the final minute of regular time, Poplatnik scored for Celje, sealing a 2-3 victory for the Slovenian team and leaving Drita with a minimal disadvantage ahead of the return leg.
Qualification for the 1/16 stage of the Conference League will be decided in the return match in Slovenia, where Drita will seek the upset to continue their European adventure.
Minimal loss for Shkëndija
Shkëndija also suffered a defeat, losing 0-1 to Samsunspor. The match was decided in the second half with a goal scored by Marius. In this match, the qualified team will also be determined in the return match.
