Austin FC sporting director Rodolfo Borel has reacted to rumors of a possible transfer of Myrto Uzun to Trabzonspor, explaining the reasons why the deal did not materialize.
In a statement to the media, Borel stressed that offers for players are a normal part of the market, but a transfer only takes place when all parties are satisfied with the conditions.
According to him, the main obstacle in Uzun's case was the short time left until the end of the transfer window, as well as the financial conditions proposed for the American club.
" Offers come for players. But to reach an agreement, the player has to be happy and the club has to be satisfied in the end. The owners make an investment to bring in players and, if there is going to be a move, it has to happen because everyone benefits ," Borel said.
He highlighted that in some cases offers arrive at inconvenient times, when the club does not have enough time to find a replacement.
" It happens that offers arrive when there is no more time to get another player. Or the club is not interested, because even though the player is offered a lot of money, for the club the offer is not satisfactory ," he added.
Borel explained that Uzun's case is not isolated, but part of a broader dynamic that also includes other players on the team. According to him, every decision is made by assessing the sporting and financial interests of the club.
" At every moment the best decision for the club must be made ," concluded Austin's sporting director.
Myrto Uzuni remains part of Austin FC, while his future in the transfer market remains to be seen if there will be new offers in the upcoming transfer period.
