Former England striker Raheem Sterling has been arrested in Hampshire after his Lamborghini crashed into barriers on the M3 motorway.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 9:00 a.m. There were no injuries in the accident and no other vehicles were involved.
Hampshire Police announced that the 31-year-old is charged with dangerous driving under the influence of narcotics, possession of "Class C" drugs (which include anabolic steroids, benzodiazepines and nitrous oxide), as well as categorically refusing to take a drug test at the scene.
The Feyenoord player (who joined the Dutch club in February after leaving Chelsea) is currently out on bail while the investigation continues. So far, neither Sterling's managers nor Feyenoord have made any official comment.
