Journalist Berat Buzhala says that there would be no greater "masquerade" than the meeting that has now been cancelled, between the governments of Albania and Kosovo.
In a direct link to the show "Opinion" on TV Klan, journalist Buzhala says that Prime Minister Rama did the right thing by canceling the meeting.
Blendi Fevziu: Was Rama right to cancel the joint meeting?
Berat Buzhala: There would be no greater masquerade than that meeting tomorrow. Rama is doing the right thing, if one goes crazy, we shouldn't all go crazy. Rama must keep his line. The meeting in Gjakova makes no sense because we are making a masquerade. Rama's format was much more realistic, you can't discuss tomatoes when sanctions are at stake. Albania is part of the NATO alliance. NATO is also in Kosovo. Albania is where it should be, in NATO among those who have liberated us. Albanians have the sense to come together through NATO. Albania is doing the right thing and Rama is doing the right thing. This time in history will be remembered as the time of folly. Rama is doing the right thing in Albania for Kosovo.
During his speech, Buzhala also touched on the sanctions that may come to Kosovo from its allies, the USA and the EU.
Berat Buzhala: This was more of Rama's response because Kurti in a press conference mocked Rama about the draft statute, Kurti played the cynical, as if there is nothing that sanctions await us. They are real sanctions: the suspension of 400 million Euros from the EU for projects in Kosovo, Kurti cannot have diplomatic meetings, EU officials will limit Kurti's outings when there are certain meetings. Which foreign investor will invest in a Kosovo that has sanctions from the EU? Additional NATO troops will be deployed in the north and Albanian troops are likely to be invited as well. There will be troops that will remove those that Kurti has placed and NATO will take control. For 2 and a half years with Kurti in the government, he has brought us bad relations with the world, with Albania, Macedonia, with the media. Only Kurt is right, everyone else is wrong. It's not the pressure on Kurt. The crux of the problem is that Kurti has promised in Ohrid that he will make the association for the Serbian municipalities. The ball is in Kurt's court, Kurt needs to submit a draft charter there. 98 percent of the residents in the north of Kosovo are Serbs, they have no desire to live in the territory of Kosovo, the new thing is the lack of sincere commitment of the Kosovo side to that problem. It should be sat down and negotiated normally without a big mind.
Blendi Fevziu: There is a statement by Escobar and a NYT article that says Kurti is serving Vucic. Is there really a break between the USA and Kurti?
Berat Buzhala : Maximum breakage. Kurti has sent special forces to the north without notifying NATO. There are American soldiers in the north of Kosovo. It does not notify its allies that they have their troops there. There are Serbian gangs in the north, but the first thing you do is at least notify the US Embassy to withdraw your troops. Kurti will never again have the confidence of the US as a long-term partner in the Balkans.
