The inauguration of the Llogara tunnel brings vacationers to the southern beaches, kilometers of vehicle traffic

The opening of the Llogara tunnel has encouraged vacationers to head south for the beach. But, near the Llogara tunnel, there is a high number of vehicles and heavy traffic has been created.

Currently, only one side of the tunnel is open to traffic this summer season and traffic builds up near the tunnel as the road narrows from two lanes to one.

The Llogara tunnel shortens the distance to the south, while from Dukati to Palasa it will now take only 7 minutes from the 30 minutes it used to take earlier. Meanwhile, from Vlora to Palasa, if it used to take 1 hour, now the road takes 20 minutes.

After the end of the tourist season, work will begin on the other side, and it is expected that in 2025 traffic will be possible on both sides. The Llogara tunnel this season will be open to passers-by free of charge, while from next year the fee to pass will be 5 euros.
