The Greek media have again paid attention to Fredi Beleri's case, after GJKKO rejected his request to be sworn in as mayor of Himara.
"Protothema" attacks the Albanian government, reporting that they interfered in the court's decision.
"Fredi Beleri's request to be sworn in as mayor of Heimaur was rejected. The Tirana court specifically decided that it will not grant permission to take the oath to the elected mayor of Himara, giving him the right to appeal the decision within 15 days. The Albanian Prime Minister appeared in an interview a few days ago, unmoved and said that the Beleri case is exclusively about justice and neither he nor his government have been involved nor will they be involved", writes protothema.
"Protothema" reports a part of Fredi Beleri's statement where he accuses the government of having interfered in the decision of GJKKO. "Edi Rama and his circle trivialize the process and advance the decisions of the Court", Beleri said.
Furthermore, the Greek media broadcast an interview of Prime Minister Edi Rama on A2CNN television where he said that Greece has no right in the Beler case and that it belongs to justice to give its judgment.
"Albania is a state that has no other justice for citizens with Albanian citizenship and no other justice for Albanians with other citizenships. It is not a minority rights issue. We have no problem with minorities. We have done for minorities what many other European countries have not done. We do not have the power to decide whether or not the oath will be taken and neither does the General Directorate of Prisons, the law clearly defines when it takes place. Even if the European Council turns upside down, we are not negotiating anything beyond the strategic interest of Albania, which is the implementation of the reform in Justice and ensuring the independence of justice institutions", this is how the Greek media reports the interview of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Today's session of GJKKO was "occupied" by Greek minorities, the Greek ambassador, PBDNJ militants and a large number of Greek journalists. In fact, the Greek media broadcast LIVE the moment when the court's decision was announced, while the Greek journalists reported with aplomb. The representatives of the Greek minority protesting in front of the court also took out a banner, not allowing the Albanian media to report, but only the Greek media.
Meanwhile in the courtroom when the decision was taken, they burst into calls: "Shame", Shame", "Down with the dictatorship". /Protothema
