Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has denied the news that she is planning to buy a villa in Palasa.
The news was announced by the well-known Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera.
According to the newspaper, Meloni was shocked by the fake news and the ease with which it spread.
"It is absolutely not true. How can things be given as news that I have never thought about", said the Italian Prime Minister, the newspaper quotes.
A few days ago the newspaper Il Foglio published an article according to which the Italian Prime Minister was buying a villa with a swimming pool on the coast of Palasa.
According to the newspaper, which referred to political and diplomatic sources from Tirana, Meloni's investment would further cement her relationship with Edi Rama.
The news was also conveyed by many other media, being connected to the construction of the Emigrant Centers in Albania, the beating heart of the agreement reached with Edi Rama. In short, the hypothetical purchase of the villa in Albania would be (also) a kind of favor from Meloni to Rama (or vice versa). But according to Corrieres, all of this is untrue and part of a smear campaign against the Italian prime minister.
