Criminalistics expert Artan Rexhepi said that the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) should be supported in its initiative to investigate electoral crime. He described it as a positive initiative by the institution.
Rexhepi recalled the murder that occurred in Elbasan two days before the 2021 elections, where, according to him, if SPAK had been with the strategy against electoral crimes, perhaps that event could have been avoided.
"I am satisfied with the work of SPAK in recent years, LSI with 110 thousand votes received 4 deputies, Tom Doshi with 35 thousand received the same, the Electoral Code is not right. If everyone supports SPAK, we reach 80 percent of the people who support it. The Elbasan incident has a passivity of the forces to intervene, there were many well-known names, no one knows the names of those who killed in the White House; if the policeman shoots, he goes to prison, if he doesn't shoot, he goes to prison. If SPAK had intervened, maybe the Elbasan incident wouldn't have happened, if he hadn't been the commando there, maybe 10 people would have been killed", Rexhepi told "Euronews Albania".
