It is suspected that the cause of the fire at the Deutsch Color paint factory on the Tirana Durrës highway was an electrical spark in the paint production sector.
The paint factory was engulfed in a massive fire on Saturday evening around 10pm.
15 fire engines, 65 fire brigades, 200 police forces and volunteers were engaged to extinguish the flames. They were able to bring the fire under control after a few hours.
In a press release, the Durrës police said that no one was injured by the flames. At the time of the fire, there were no employees in the factory, while the guards of the facility were outside. However, for security reasons, the police evacuated the citizens who were in a nearby bar.
And for security reasons, the police temporarily blocked traffic on the Durrës-Tirana highway, diverting the movement of vehicles to the secondary road
