The deputy of the Socialist Party, Bardhyl Kollçaku, said that the security of the country should be based on the army and not on alliances.
Kollcaku emphasized that being in NATO is an additional security for a country.
However, according to him, the alliances are temporary and the constitutional obligation for the defense of the country rests with the Armed Forces.
"Alliances are temporary and we should not say that NATO protects us. Being in NATO is an added security. However, the Armed Forces and the Albanian people have the constitutional obligation. We have 850 active forces and 2500 reserve forces will be added. Almost a division. If tomorrow the alliance changes, no doubt our strategy and plans will be in sync with these changes. There is no chance that NATO will be undone", MP Kollçaku told News 24.
