" A justice system that operates without fear and intimidation is a legitimate demand of the Albanian people, and the United States is deeply concerned about threats of violence against law enforcement officials who are working to make Albania safe, prosperous, and more democratic. Investigators, prosecutors and judges must be able to perform their duties without threats or intimidation. The United States reiterates its unwavering support for law enforcement officials in Albania, who are courageously fighting corruption and organized crime, and stands ready to support their efforts," the embassy said .
