Another piece of the heart of Tirana is being given over to high-rise construction. This time, the site of the “Zyber Hallulli” Children’s Home and the Labor Inspectorate building will be demolished to make way for three new multifunctional towers. The project is part of another deal by the Albanian Investment Corporation, led by Elira Kokona, that gives private partners the right to develop the capital’s most expensive public assets in exchange for some new buildings being built on the outskirts.
The area where the orphanages and inspection institutions are currently located will be occupied by 3 towers where luxury apartments, offices, shopping centers and underground parking will be combined.
It was Edi Rama and Elira Kokona of the Investment Corporation who announced with great fanfare today the competition for the new orphanage project.
" We have managed to place another project in the queue of these projects, which are already in an advanced stage and some of them are even ready to receive the development permit and start work. Thanks to this process, we will have a new stadium of European proportions, another architectural work worthy of the new history that we are writing together with this extraordinary team of architects ," declared Rama.
From the presentation of projects conceived by 5 studios from Portugal, Italy, Denmark and Mexico, only 2 of them were announced as winners.
"Taller Hector Barroso + Studio B&L LLC + Progeen LLC + Doriana Bleta + Agim Seranaj + Ardian Paci", is the architectural studio that will build the new "Zyber Hallulli" children's home in the area known as "Vilat Gjermane" on approximately 5 thousand square meters.
"Rojkind Arquitectos SC + Son Engineering & Construction + Asab Sh.PK + Motus + Julian Kasharaj", is an architectural studio that has been entrusted with the construction of 3 luxury towers in the capital.
The area in question had long been coveted for construction and " Pamphlet " has denounced it several times. A short time ago, it was the Investment Cooperative that announced the project. The properties included in the project are the one with an area of 7,107 m² of land. Within this property there is a building with an area of 1,411 m², in which the building of the "Zyber Hallulli" Children's Home is located.
The project also includes a property with an area of 2,902.6 m2 of land, which is a construction unit and land currently in use by the Central Inspectorate.
Meanwhile, the third property is the one with an area of 5,219 m2, transferred to the ownership of AIC, and will be for public development for the construction of a new house for the children of the "Zyber Hallulli" center.
So the Inspectorate building and the new Children's Home will be moved to "Gramoz Pashko" Street. The land they leave, with a huge surface area, is expected to be given to private individuals to build towers. /Pamphlet
