Analyst Ben Andoni commented on Sunday's local elections in North Macedonia and the Albanian factor, emphasizing that the results show a deep division between Albanian parties and a growing dominance of Macedonian forces.
According to Andoni, the local elections were held more with a general political character than administrative: "These elections were closer to the general elections in terms of slogans, promises and approach. This shows that the country is heading towards early elections ."
Invited to the Terminal show by Aurora Sulçe on A2 CNN, he also criticized the lack of reaction from official Tirana and Pristina, emphasizing that " the three Albanian centers, Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia, are more divided than ever ."
Andoni described DUI as a symbol of corruption in North Macedonia, adding that " this party is identified with big business and economic abuses, while cities like Tetovo have been reduced to university centers without real development ."
He stressed that rivalry between Albanian forces has become an obstacle to political change: “ The division of Albanians is the reason why their political power is fading .”
Andoni warned of a possible new political scenario: “ Don’t be surprised if in April Ali Ahmeti enters a coalition with VMRO-DPMNE .”
