Political analyst from North Macedonia, Fejzi Hajdari, has commented on the results of the local elections, focusing on the message that, according to him, Albanian citizens gave to the old politics.
"The Albanian citizens of Macedonia gave the deserved response not only to Edi Rama, but also to Ali Ahmeti," Hajdari told 'Syri TV'.
He said that the main battle for Ali Ahmeti was in the municipality of Cair, in Skopje, an area with an Albanian majority, where, according to him, the result represents a symbolic blow to the DUI.
"This was the final message to Ali Ahmeti, that he has lost the battle in the largest bastion of the DUI, in Chair. This was also the answer to those who gathered in Tirana and to those here who went to join," Hajdari emphasized.
He added that Ali Ahmeti has sought political salvation from Edi Rama and the opposition in Pristina, and accused several media outlets funded by dubious sources of attempting to manipulate public opinion.
"They try to present Prime Minister Kurti and a party from the VALEN coalition as political entities that have been subjugated to the Serbs there in Kosovo and to the Macedonians here in Macedonia. But the vote of Albanian citizens showed something completely different," he concluded.
