In these conditions, support for intervention from the air was requested and the "Cougar" Air Force helicopter went into operation to make it possible to extinguish the flames.
The Ministry of Defense informed that the fire has involved two to three hectares of land and after the intervention of the firefighting forces of the municipalities of Tirana and Kamëz, it became possible, in the early hours of this morning, to isolate part of the fire in the wing where the houses were endangered.
During the night, the prefect of the Tirana district, Afrim Qendro, was also present at the scene, who also saw the situation closely.
"Due to the impossibility of vehicle intervention, as a result of the depth of the fire area and the difficult terrain, the flames crossed the hill, including a part of the village of Cikallesh in the municipality of Helme in Kavajë", announced the ministry.
