An investigation by SPAK may also reveal other illegal benefits from Ridvan Bode, due to his decisions as former Minister of Finance.
Ridvan Bode, the former symbolic minister of Sali Berisha's 8-year government, whose name is linked to almost all the major financial crimes of Sali Berisha's government, turns out to have benefited from tens of thousands of euros through his son Eraldo Bode from companies that benefited from public money and assets from Bode when he was Minister of Finance.
Bode was Minister of Finance from 2005 to 2013. The Ministry of Finance was and is a 2.5% shareholder in Telekom Albania, now One Albania. Telekom Albania reportedly paid Bode's son tens of thousands of euros through a lease agreement valued above the market rent.
Meanwhile, after Bode's departure as Minister of Finance, his children Adela Bode and Eraldo Bode have received payments worth tens of thousands of euros from companies that benefited from public concessions from the Ministry of Finance, when it was headed by Bode. An investigation by SPAK may also reveal other illegal benefits from Ridvan Bode, due to his decisions as former Minister of Finance.
Meanwhile, Bode's son-in-law, Ali Vishaj, and his son Eraldo Bode, created a lending activity, with considerable amounts of money and in violation of the law. They created AvA Consulting to provide microloans with extremely high interest rates, when Bode was still Minister of Finance. Eraldo Bode, Adela Bode and Adela's husband, Ali Vishaj, have benefited from this scheme.
500 thousand euros of corruption assets
The High Inspectorate for Asset Declaration and Control reported Ridvan Boden in April 2015 for concealing assets and money laundering. According to the HIDAKKI, Bode did not justify an asset worth 500 thousand euros.
This institution had summoned the former Minister of Finance several times to provide explanations and justify the wealth, but Bode, with arrogance, had refused, defying the law.
After the report, Bode said that he was being politically attacked. In fact, time showed that Edi Rama, not only did not attack him politically, but in December 2018, Rama appointed Ridvan Boden through Parliament as a member of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, where his daughter, Adela Bode, is also employed, so father and daughter in a public institution, in a conflict of interest. Bode's son-in-law, Ali Vishaj, was even a shareholder in a bank, while his son provided loans through a financial company.
The closure of Ridvan Bode's property file was signed by businessman prosecutor Arqile Koça, who, although he admits that Ridvan Bode did not declare part of his assets according to the law, this fact, according to him, does not constitute a criminal offense.
Arqile Koça, known as a businessman prosecutor due to the wealth he owned, including at least 5 apartments, was dismissed from the first instance of Vetting in March 2019 due to some problems with his wealth, but was later reinstated by the Special Appeals Commission. /Background
