
Shares of Trump Media, the parent company of Donald Trump's social media platform Truth Social, rose more than 15%, according to NBC News.
The wildly volatile stock, which trades under the ticker symbol DJT, fell from a high of $54 last Tuesday to around $30 on Friday.
As of this morning, its market value was nearly $8 billion, not far off The New York Times' market capitalization of about $8.7 billion.
But business fundamentals aren't particularly strong, NBC reports. In August, it posted a quarterly loss of $16 million and revenue of less than $1 million.
Trump owns a 57% stake in Trump Media, worth about $4.5 billion as of this morning.
