Trump returns ultimatums, Iran responds "tooth for tooth"
Iran has reacted sharply to US President Donald Trump's 48-hour ultimatum, warning of severe consequences in the event of further military escalation by the US and Israel.
A representative of the Khatam al-Anbiya military command stated that any expansion of the conflict would lead to widespread destabilization of the region.
" Remember that if the aggression expands, the entire region will turn into hell for you ," he said, adding that the idea of defeating the Islamic Republic of Iran is an "illusion."
Tehran's reaction comes after the ultimatum announced by the US president. In a post on the Truth Social platform, Donald Trump declared: " You will remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out - 48 hours before all hell breaks loose on them ."
The ultimatum is related to Washington's demand for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key corridor for global energy trade, which has been blocked by Iran since the beginning of the conflict.
At the same time, clashes are spreading to other fronts. Houthi rebels in Yemen announced they had launched a missile attack on Israel, targeting Ben Gurion Airport and military facilities in the south of the country, using a ballistic missile and several unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Israeli military confirmed that it had identified a rocket launched from Yemen and activated its air defense systems. According to Israeli media, the rocket fell in an open area without causing casualties or damage.
Recent developments indicate a significant increase in tensions in the region, while warnings and counter-responses between the parties are increasing the risk of a wider escalation of the conflict.
