Israel was reportedly planning to strike 15 targets in Iran when Donald Trump intervened to prevent Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu from launching a missile attack on Tehran after Iran violated a ceasefire announced by Defense Minister Israel Katz.
According to Channel 12 News, Trump told him in a stern tone to call off the attack.
"Israel. Don't drop those bombs. If you do, it will be a major violation. Bring back the pilots now," Donald Trump wrote, addressing Israel.
Netanyahu ordered the planes to remain over Iranian skies until a location was found that could be targeted “without collateral damage.” In the end, a single radar target was hit.
The publication also notes that in a podcast, Trump's former chief adviser Steve Bannon stated that Trump, with his phrase "they don't know what the hell they're doing," appeared angrier than ever.
When Netanyahu told Trump he couldn't stop the attack, it was "another lie among the many lies we've heard from the Netanyahu government," Bannon said of the Israeli prime minister.
"That's why he's furious. I've never seen the president of the United States more furious," Bannon noted.
"Netanyahu goes on Israeli television and flatters him," he added.
