As the Israeli army announced it is expanding its ground operation in Gaza, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a ceasefire. Through a post on the "X" platform, Guterras said that "this is the moment of truth."
" I repeat my call for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Middle East, the unconditional release of all hostages and the delivery of life-saving supplies on the necessary scale. Everyone must assume their responsibilities. This is a moment of truth. History will judge us all ," he wrote.
We recall that Israel has massed hundreds of thousands of troops along the border with Gaza ahead of an expected ground offensive.
