Greco-Croatian relations do not seem warm at all after last week's event in Athens, where an AEK fan was massacred to death by the "Bad Blue Boys" hooligan group, who support Dinamo Zagreb.
After the arrest by the Greek authorities of over 101 Croatian fans, it was the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, who burst into continuous criticism of the official Athens.

In his latest reaction to the incident where Michalis Katsouri was killed, Milanovic said that the Greek authorities are treating Dinamo Zagreb fans as if they were prisoners of war.

"The law is not respected. They treat these people as prisoners of war. If I were prime minister, I would think about what I could do. It is not simple. It looks like the law of war. They are treated as a captive unit", emphasized Milanovic.
According to him, this attitude has nothing to do with the law, democracy and respect for human rights.

"They were scattered around the prisons to be beaten and raped", the Croatian President further stated.
He has underlined that UEFA and the European Union should take measures for the way Greece is acting with Croatian fans.

"You have five days to find the parasites of a group of people and go arrest them all. You spread them all over Greece, so that they are violated and raped. Perfect, this is the European Union. You cannot keep 100 people in prison for five days. These five days give you the opportunity to learn what happened and besides, they are human beings and our citizens have rights. It has nothing to do with democracy and respect for human rights. If this is the European Union today, it's better not to have it," he said.
