Another gun attack occurred in the US, during "a party" attended by hundreds of people in a parking lot at a shopping center in Willowbrook, about 21 miles west of Chicago. At least one person was killed and 19 others were injured in the shooting that happened after midnight on Sunday.
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office said they heard gunshots around 12:30 a.m. and responded to an area where a large gathering of people was taking place.
Eric Swanson, sheriff's office chief deputy, said some victims were taken to hospitals and others were transported by EMS workers. He declined to give the age and details of the victims of the attack.
He said the motive behind the shooting was unclear. It was also not clear what type of firearms were used. Witnesses described a chaotic scene after the shooting.
" We were all just outside, and the next thing you know, the shooting just started. Everyone ran and it was chaos ," Craig Lottie said.
" As we were getting ready to go, we just started hearing gunshots coming from behind us. That's when we fell ," said Marqeisha Avery, another witness.
