British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reacted to the incident in which a car hit Liverpool fans in the city center as they were celebrating their team's victory in the English football championship.
"The scenes in Liverpool are horrific - my thoughts are with all those injured or affected," he said, adding, "I would like to thank the police and emergency services for their immediate and sustained response to this shocking incident."
At the same time, he noted: "I am informed about the developments and I ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate the incident."
