15-point peace plan, Iran rejects ceasefire: Unusual and absurd demands from the
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei and Trump

The US, Iran and a group of regional mediators are discussing terms for a possible 45-day ceasefire that could lead to a permanent end to the war in the Middle East, Axios news agency reports.

However, Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a "temporary ceasefire," while the US is not ready for a permanent ceasefire, the official was quoted as saying.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Tehran has finalized its demands among the latest proposals to end the war, but will only reveal them when it deems appropriate, stressing that Iran will not succumb to pressure, according to the IRNA news agency.

"A few days ago, they submitted proposals through intermediaries and the US 15-point plan was forwarded through Pakistan and some other friendly countries ," he said, adding that  "such proposals are extremely ambitious, unusual and absurd."

He then emphasized that Iran has its own conditions.

"Based on our interests, based on our assessments, we codified the set of demands that we had and have," Baghaei added.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson rejected the idea that working with intermediaries is a sign of weakness.

"The fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran presents its views very quickly and boldly in response to a plan should not be seen as a sign of surrender to the enemy."

"Since this discussion arose, we have formulated our responses. Whenever necessary, we will inform you clearly," he added.
