The Russian parliament, otherwise known as the Russian State Duma, is working on a law to keep the Wagner Group under control, according to Andrey Kartapolov, head of the Defense Committee.
There has been considerable speculation about Wagner's future since his boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, launched a rebellion this weekend, causing unrest and tension in the country before the latter backed away from a move towards Moscow.
"Wagner's fate has not been determined, but it is not necessary to stop him, as this is a combat-ready unit. The question marks are about Wagner's leadership, but not about the military," Kartapolov told Russian media.
Kartapolov's remarks echo those of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who said on Saturday that an agreement had been reached to "return Wagner to their countries.
