The Russian Ministry of Defense talks about recapturing ten villages. In the western Kursk region of Russia, according to the data that matches from both sides of the conflict, a counter-offensive has started to retake the territories under the control of Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense in the Telegram online service stated that the soldiers managed to recapture ten villages within two days. Russian units of the Northern Corps have penetrated the region.
The Ukrainian offensive began in early August. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj confirmed the counter-offensive. Against the backdrop of martial law, he accused the Western allies of withdrawing support for his country.
The Ukrainian army on August 6 launched a military offensive in the Russian border region of Kursk. Since then, according to its data, 100 Russian villages and almost 1,300 square km of territory were taken under control.
