Prime Minister Edi Rama, positioned in the center of the two European leaders Von der Leyen and Scholz at the joint conference, said that the Summit of the Berlin process held for the first time in Tirana was closed in a very positive way.
After his speech, Rama thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who agreed to bring this summit to Albania, and the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, who confirmed today the growth plan for the Western Balkans.
Rama also had a word about the conflict in Gaza, as he added that such difficult situations should help to increase cooperation between countries in Europe.
" While the summit was closed with fruitful discussions, with open exchanges, and with a true feeling of friendship. I would never be able to find the right words to thank the chancellor who was so graciously open to the idea of bringing the process outside the EU to Tirana and I would never be able to find the words to thank the president of the commission who gave the summit something essential through the growth plan for the Western Balkans. This is a moment in time and the challenges we face are extraordinary because of the crises that have hit all of us, whether Europe with B or without B is connected.
Things don't have to get better before they get worse on many fronts, including the new one in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. At the same time, these times have forged our friendship, cooperation, sense of togetherness, and thanks to the EU leadership, what has happened has been used to look forward with stronger confidence towards the Western Balkans. These two Germans next to me have schedules, they have set deadlines. So I don't want to take up their time here because it's not every day that we have the honor of hosting the Chancellor of Germany and the President of the Commission, so I'm sure what they have to say is more important than I tell you ", he said.
