Pope Francis canceled all his scheduled meetings today because he is sick with the flu. For preventive reasons, the Pope underwent a CT scan in the afternoon at the Catholic University Clinic of Rome Agostino Gemelli. The CT scan revealed nothing of concern.
If he recovers by tomorrow, Francis will bless the gathered faithful who will go to St. Peter's Square after mass.
In a post on social networks, the Pope referred to today's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and emphasized that "violence against women is a poisonous weed that afflicts our society and must be eradicated."
