Chaos prevailed in the Greek Parliament, following the unacceptable behavior of New Democracy MP Dimitris Kyriazidis, who, while MP Zoe Konstantopoulou was speaking, was heard from the benches commenting on the fact that Plefsis leader Eleftherias has no children.
The MP's expression "I'm having a baby" and his insistence on not apologizing caused a harsh reaction from the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zacharaki, and the entire Parliament.
According to information, Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Assembly and asked him to convey to Kyriazidis that he either apologize immediately or be dismissed from office. Immediately afterwards, the MP was referred to the Ethics Committee of the DP Parliamentary Group for expulsion.
The incident occurred when the Conservative MP, in a retort to the politician in question who was talking about children as hope for the future, addressed her, telling her to go have a child, or adopt. (Konstantopoulou got married two years ago, but she doesn't have any children yet).
Debate in Parliament:
Kyriazidis : Go have some kids…
Konstantopoulou : You told me to go have children?
Kyriazidis : Or adopt…
