Some analysts have an idea of how to make Joe Biden, the top-voted candidate of 2024, president.
Although voters think Biden may be too old to serve another four years, according to recent polls, three analysts believe that if Biden fires Vice President Kalma Harris he could be re-elected president.
In an article urging Biden not to run, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius suggested Biden replace Harris with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass or Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
Ignatius says voters are gravitating toward Harris because of Biden's age, while noting that Harris is less popular than Biden, with a 39.5 percent approval rating, according to the FiveThirtyEight polling site.
" Biden could encourage a more open vice presidential selection process that could produce a stronger candidate ," Ignatius writes.
In a New York Magazine Intelligencer analysis, Eric Levitz offers several options to replace Harris, with Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.).
Still, Harris' ouster could come with significant backlash among black voters — a category of voters Biden needs in 2024 that gave him a landslide victory in 2020.
