Israel has backed down and is seeking another ceasefire deal with Hamas.
Israel's president, Isaac Herzog, said on Tuesday that a ceasefire deal was being brokered with international help to free more hostages and allow more aid to be delivered to the Palestinian enclave.
"Israel is ready for another humanitarian pause and to enable the release of the hostages ," Herzog told a meeting of ambassadors.
He also emphasized that the responsibility rests entirely with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and the rest of the Hamas leadership.
The cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas last month lasted seven days and 105 hostages were released from the Gaza Strip, while 108 Palestinian prisoners were released from Israeli jails.
For its part, the Islamic organization rejects the development of negotiations on the subject of the exchange of hostages it holds, while the war with Israel continues, but declares "open" to any initiative to end it.
" We reiterate our position that we categorically reject any form of prisoner exchange negotiations while Israel's genocidal war continues. We are open to any initiative that contributes to ending the attack on our people and opening the way to bring aid and to provide aid to the Palestinian people ," Bassem Naim said in a statement.
