Elections held on June 11 in Montenegro were thought to provide a solution to the political impasse that had gripped the country. However, this was not the case, since none of the parties managed to provide the governing amount.

The first party, Milojko Spajić's "Europe Now" Movement, managed to get only 24 seats of parliament and when 9 days have passed since the elections, they still haven't created many governing bodies.

This is because they do not want a government coalition with the Social Democrats of former President Milo Djukanovic and the "URA" movement of current Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic.

And if that wasn't enough, Prime Minister candidate Spajić has been at the center of a financial affair in recent days with South Korean citizen Do Kwon arrested in Podgorica, suspected of embezzling tens of billions of dollars through cryptocurrency trading.

Prime Minister Abazovic claims that there is a possibility that the campaign of the "Europe Now" movement was financed with money from cryptocurrencies, but Spajic denies these accusations.

In an interview for the Macedonian television 'TV21', Abazovic said that now it is not important who Spajic wants in the next government, but who has the majority for its creation.

He added, among other things, that the most important thing now is for Montenegro to become the first member of the EU from our region by 2027.

"If the government's priority is the fight against organized crime and if the goal is to finish all our obligations from the EU agenda by 2027, then I see myself in another government, if they have other properties, good luck for them, who wants whom. Who does not have, it does not matter, but who can achieve the majority. I don't mind going to the opposition, if they want a stable government, I think they should think differently. Montenegro retired people who were in power for 30 years. The most important thing for us is to become the first future member of the EU",  he said, reports Vijesti.

Under these conditions, the possibility that the new Montenegrin government will not be formed in the next three months and new elections will be announced in the fall is not excluded.
