Underground tunnel in the warehouse of the Supreme Court in Montenegro, Interior

The underground tunnel about 30 meters long to the Supreme Court warehouse in Podgorica was opened mainly by citizens of Serbia, who have been identified, said the Minister of the Interior of Montenegro, Filip Ajic.

Adjic said at a press conference on September 22 that Veljko Markovic (32), Milan Markovic (53), Dejan Jovanovic (30) and Vladimir Eric (32), all from Serbia, took part in the crime.

They were also helped by people from Montenegro, according to him. He even showed their photos to reporters during the conference.

The underground tunnel, 30 meters long, from the basement of an apartment in the center of Podgorica to the warehouse of the Supreme Court, was discovered on September 11.

The police did not find anyone in the apartment located on "Njegosheva" street in the center of Podgorica, and as it was established, the apartment was rented to people who used forged documents.

In the warehouse of the Supreme Court, in addition to court files, among which there is evidence for various criminal offenses, there are also about nine and a half tons of confiscated narcotics, of which about two tons are cocaine and about seven tons of marijuana.

Axic said that a lawsuit has also been filed against two unidentified persons.

All of them fled Montenegro in small groups on September 11 after committing the crime, the day it was discovered that the warehouse had been looted, so they could not be arrested.

" There is a connection between this organization and a person from the Supreme Court and with people who are currently in the Administration for the Execution of Sanctions and who are connected to one of the criminal organizations in the country ," said Axhic.

Most of those identified have a criminal past and are on the crime registers of other countries, said Axic, adding that the authorities already have a track that leads them to the perpetrators.

Since they are not from Montenegro, he said, it is important that they be arrested in cooperation with state services from the region.

He added that at least five other people participated in the crime, who offered logistical help or other support.

Adzic also showed a photo of a woman who is connected to that case, saying that she is a citizen of Montenegro and that it is not known if she has left the country.

He said that the authorities have a lead that leads to the perpetrators and that from further actions it should be determined whether the Supreme Court person participated in a criminal organization, or if he is only related to it.

" Since we already have a certain connection between the people of the Supreme Court, the criminal organization that dug and those who stay at UIKS, we are one step closer to discovering the real motive for digging the tunnel and entering the warehouse," he added . Ažić.

He said that he will not ask the president of the Supreme Court, Boris Savic, to resign.

" I have information that Saviqi used the keys to the warehouse and that he had to get to know everyone who stayed in the warehouse. Further investigation will show if it is related. We have no information that Saviqi is connected to these criminal activities ", he emphasized./REL
