The Peace Board, an organization founded by US President Donald Trump, met in Washington on Thursday. Several heads of state attended the event, including Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who also delivered a speech.
After the meeting, Osmani and Rama held a conversation with the American president. Afterwards, the Kosovo president gave details about this meeting in an interview.
During his speech, Trump also mentioned relations between Kosovo and Serbia. He addressed Osman, asking him to contact him if any problems arise.
There were reactions in the Serbian media.
The newspaper "Blic" published an article critical of the American president, ironizing his statements about his role in stopping the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia and describing his performance as weak.
"The mountain trembled, a mouse flew away". Trump boasts that he has ended 8 wars, also mentions Serbia: Here's why his performance is much "weaker"", is the headline published by "Blic".
In the text, the newspaper writes: "Yesterday, at the "Peace Committee" meeting, Trump once again boasted of his "success" in supposedly stopping the war between Kosovo and Serbia."
The article also points out that representatives from Serbia did not participate in this meeting.
The event in Washington was followed by media reactions in Belgrade, where the focus was placed on the statements of the American president and the participation of representatives from Kosovo and Albania.
Meanwhile, Advisor to Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, Kreshnik Çollaku, has revealed details of the conversation that Donald Trump had with Edi Rama and Osmani.
Çollaku claimed that the three leaders have spoken about the trial taking place in The Hague against KLA leaders.
"I confirm that the private conversation was with the KLA leaders in The Hague. Sensitive and important topics were discussed. I think it is not the time to make everything public. The President will make it public at a later date, so as not to harm the processes ," said Çollaku.
According to him, "Trump is an unpredictable President, so we may have positive surprises."
"Osmani met with the National Security Council today. Tomorrow we anticipate meetings at other important political levels and there will be very good news," said Çollaku.
