The GJKKO appeal has left Safet, Behar Bajri and Astmer Bilali in prison.
The Shkodra strongman was arrested on February 21 for the murder of Fatbardh Lici in 2018. He is accused of having, together with Asmer Bilal and his first cousin Behar Bajri, organized and committed the premeditated murder in the form of a structured criminal group.
During the hearing, Safet Bajri did not consider the wiretaps as evidence that proves the charges against him.
"I don't understand how these unrelated wiretaps can be called evidence. I was at a disco and a fish restaurant that day. When I get home, I'll go through that street, where I've always gone," he declared.
Safet Bajri's arrest came after a previous failed search of his home. His lawyer told the media that Bajri had presented himself to the Shkodra police to submit a DNA sample.
The motive for the murder of the uncle of Ibrahim Lici, Bajra's rival, according to SPAK, is related to Behar Bajra's suspicion that Ibrahim Lici had killed a member of their group, former police officer Boran Bërçana, on July 15, 2018, who was executed in a car along with his partner Silvi Ndoci.
Also on March 13, it was announced that Bajri's girlfriend, Eria Ago, had also been arrested for this incident. Ago was arrested on February 26 with a detention order from SPAK, with the security measure "arrest in prison", on the charge of "Supporting the perpetrator of the crime" in connection with the murder of Fatbardh Lici.
