Epstein "Russian asset"? Kremlin mocks allegations: Let's not

Moscow reacted today to speculation raised in some Western media and by the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, according to which Jeffrey Epstein may have had links to Russian intelligence services.

The Kremlin stated that it does not intend to deal with claims that are not supported by evidence.

Donald Tusk said earlier that Poland would launch an investigation into what he called possible links between Epstein and Russian intelligence, as well as any possible influence on Polish territory. The Polish prime minister did not provide concrete evidence for these claims.

Reports and comments have raised doubts about whether Epstein may have served as an agent to collect compromising material on wealthy and powerful figures.

Asked by Reuters about these statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov categorically denied them.

"I would like to joke about such versions, but let's not waste time," he said.

According to Russian officials, claims of a connection between Epstein and Russian intelligence are being used to divert attention from a scandal that, they say, has exposed the hypocrisy of powerful figures in the United States and Europe.

Epstein files released by the US Justice Department mention Russia thousands of times and show that some of the young women he had contact with were from Russia. Among them is a 26-year-old woman whom Epstein had asked to introduce to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the younger brother of Britain's King Charles.

In parallel, various media outlets and bloggers have speculated about Epstein's possible connections to other intelligence services, such as the Israeli Mossad or the American CIA. However, no conclusive evidence has been published to date that he worked for any intelligence service.
