Albanian Avni Meçe will spend a full 24 years in prison after killing his partner with a hammer in 2022.
The final decision was taken today by the Bolzano Court of Appeal.
The entire incident that occurred on October 22, 2022 was narrated by Meçja himself. The Albanian carpenter admitted that he killed his partner Alexandra Elena Mocanu by hitting her several times in the head with a hammer. The murder took place in the apartment where they both lived. The Albanian's confession made the incident come to light very quickly. According to investigations, the cause of the murder was an argument, which escalated into violence.
The prosecution requested a life sentence for Meca. However, the Albanian's confession and cooperation with the justice system led the court to sentence him to 24 years in prison.
We recall that the case in question shocked public opinion not only in Italy, but also in Albania.
